Scott has a long history of being a leader in the Canadian meteorological community. He has written peer-reviewed articles on Canadian weather phenomena and has been sought after as a weather expert; having appeared in over 50 media articles. Scott specializes in forecasting and researching high-impact weather, notably severe thunderstorms. His master's research on nocturnal thunderstorms from the Plains Elevated Convection at Night (PECAN) field project, a major US-based scientific study, has helped to advance our knowledge of thunderstorm development. Scott has a Master's of Science from the University of Manitoba and is the Chief Scientist at Weatherlogics Inc., a Winnipeg-based meteorological forecasting and research firm that he co-founded.
