We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Lines Branch Manager for our Downtown Torontolocation.
This role will be responsible for managing all Commercial Lines Underwriting (Property, Casualty and Auto) and Processing functions for the downtown branch in accordance with the corporate standards.
Job Responsibilities: What would I do on the job?
-Assist in the development of branch strategy and setting of financial targets (COR, GWP, PIF, New Business)
-Manage and execute the Commercial Lines branch plan by providing clear direction on actions required to achieve desired results.
-Lead and motivate the team in a sales oriented approach toward the development of broker partnerships and growth of the commercial lines business.
-Development and management of a team consisting of approximately 15 underwriters - ensuring appropriate workflows, service standards as per corporate objectives are consistently satisfied.
-Oversee and monitor account underwriting and adherence to Aviva policies and procedures
-Analyze branch results via reports - drilling down to the transaction level - and working with the team to implement a strategy to reverse poor outcomes/results and maximize the positive results.
-Performance Appraisals - including succession planning as well as responsible to ensure appropriate training is received by the staff. Provide coaching/mentoring to more junior staff.
-Broker visitations and management - proactively working with broker partners to strengthen relationships and ensure business plans are met. Prompt resolution to conflict/issues that are raised by brokers - acting as a lead on major accounts.
-Attendance at industry/company functions and conferences as required representing Aviva
-Working closely with our BD teams as well as other departments/functions both within the local branch and externally to successfully acheive the branch goals.

Experience/Skills required: Do I have what it takes?
-Excellent oral & written communication skills
-8-10 years in commercial underwriting
-Prior supervisory/managerial experience and asset
-Strong leadership, organizational and administration skills
-Highly motivated team player
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Computer skills in Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
-Excellent ability to manager customer relationships
-Strong problem solving/analytical thinking.
