- After 25 successful years in recruitment, Barb Perkins, CPC, founded and launched Perkins Professional Search Ltd. PPS's specializes in two desk practices: Insurance and Accounting. PPS conducts searches for all levels of property and casualty insurance, risk management and group benefits. The Accounting discipline includes executive designated searches for CFO's, VP Finance, Controllers, Assistant Controllers and Senior Accountants and Payroll. PPS's core concentration is permanent, contingency or retained searches.
Barb began her recruiting career in 1984 in Washington, DC. She was the General Manager for a large mulit-branch national recruiting firm. She joined Harcourt Recruiting Specialists in 1992. In 1997, she became Vice-President of Harcourt. She holds her CPC designation.
Barb has built a rewarding career and attributes her success to her unique ability to establish long-term business relationships with each client. Her comprehensive knowledge of the Insurance and Accounting industries assists her in identifying pinnacle talent for her clients and “the right fit” for their corporate culture. Her network of contacts includes influential executives and business leaders across Canada.
Barb is a knowledgeable and interactive member of the Edmonton business community. She volunteers with numerous business and community organizations: ACSESS (Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services); Edmonton Insurance Association; CIBC Run for the Cure; and The Alzheimers Society’s Run to Remember.
Barb has been a Rotarian since 2001 and currently serves as Chair for the Sergeant of Arms Committee.
She became a Pinnacle member in 2007, (www.pinnaclesociety.org.) and is proud to be a part of this elite consortium of recruiters. Barb has established herself as a dominant recruiter in her niche and has written several articles for publications that are industry specific, Insurance West Magazine and the The Alberta Broker.
