The funds raised by WICC in support of cancer research have been achieved from industry support at a variety of WICC functions, including dinners, learning breakfasts, concerts, golf tournaments, marathons, Relay for Life, as well as the purchase of WICC candles, CDs and other products. In addition, numerous individuals, companies and associations within and related to the insurance industry have held or sponsored events specifically to raise funds for WICC or directed the proceeds of their annual events to WICC.
The involvement of all WICC supporters and volunteers has made it possible for WICC to achieve its Mission: To mobilize the Canadian Insurance Industry in the fight against cancer by focussing on cancer research, support and education.

WICC Ontario 16th Gala Dinner ‘Power in Plaid’ – Featuring Performance by ‘The Mudmen’ [Video Clip]
WICC Ontario held its 16th annual gala dinner, 'Power in Plaid', on April 18, 2012 at The Westin Harbour Castle Hotel and Conference Centre in Toronto. Feature performance for the evening was by band 'The Mudmen' [as seen in video below].
Always entertaining and definitely unique, The Mudmen are a blast of Celtic energy whose members are known to be characters both on and off stage. The band, formed in 1998 by Sandy and Rob Campbell (a.k.a. "The Campbell Brothers"). The Mudmen have 6 studio albums and have opened for ZZTop, The Guess Who, Biff Naked, Nazareth, Finger Eleven and many more. The Mudmen have toured Canada, U.S.A. and Europe and are best described as fun. (www.mudmen.ca)
Later in the evening, there was a presentation of cheque donation from WICC to the Canadian Cancer Society. On hand to accept the cheque for $250,000, Martin Kabat, CEO of the Ontario division of the Canadian Cancer Society reminded guests of the power that WICC has in the fight against cancer and the many advances in research his organization has been able to achieve thanks to WICC and the 16 years of support by the insurance industry across Canada. Since the inception of WICC in 1996, more than $5.5 million has been raised in Ontario alone.
