We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Automobile Mentor / Specialist for our Mississauga location.

Job Summary

Responsible to assess and evaluate more complex risks and apply effective pricing, underwriting and marketing of business. Also responsible for providing technical training and quality control in the form of mentoring and training of Commercial Auto Underwriters. To act as a liaison between NCL and branch on Commercial Auto referrals and on specific underwriting issues.

Job Responsibilities: What would I do on the job?

Responsible to assess and evaluate more complex risks and apply effective pricing, underwriting and marketing of business. Also responsible for providing technical training and quality control in the form of mentoring.
Provide technical advice and coaching to other underwriting staff involved in this line of business.
Conduct internal underwriting compliance audits / reviews.
Handle day to day referrals in a timely fashion.
Develop and maintain positive business partnerships with our Brokers, clients and reinsurers.
Provide input into the analysing of the brokers portfolio and make recommendations where needed.
Develop seminars and provide specific training to underwriters and brokers on auto related issues.
Provide feedback and automobile support to the Commercial Lines Manager as required.

Experience/Skills Required: Do I have what it takes?

University degree and FCIP is preferred.
Minimum 7 - 10 years of Commercial Automobile underwriting experience
Experience with writing complex risk-managed accounts an asset
Excellent written/verbal communication skills & negotiating skills
Ability to problem solve and to make impact decisions
Strong leadership, organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
Very strong marketing & relationship building skills
Strong PC skills including Word & Excel
Experience on RTM system
