Does your company have an 'official' social media strategy that serves even as a guideline?
Comment by Terry Golesworthy on June 27, 2012 at 6:42pm My company publishes a newsletter covering social media in the insurance industry for the US but we sadly neglect activity in Canada. I am hoping members of this group might enlighten me as well as point me at Canadian insurers that are doing a good job with social.

Keeping current on trends and proper SM etiquette is something that will help us all....... well, me for sure!
Comment by Tammy Elizabeth Southin on June 25, 2011 at 3:26pm After quite a bit of restructuring, I have taken a second look at our social media planning to increase both effectiveness and content.
One of the interesting developments is entering into the world of the #FF. At first this seemed to be yet another item on the social media to-do list with seemingly little return. But after some experimenting, this simple move is paying off with some great networking dividends.
Reaching out to followers not only increases profile exposure but also lends an enhanced sense of credibility as a business networker and not just an aimless Tweeter.
Mind you, our goal is not strictly numbers of followers; several questionable ones (do they even know this is about insurance?) are blocked in favour of a controlled community of insurance and affiliate professionals.
Has anyone else succeeded in making Twitter work for them? Have you planned out your ISMO (Insurance Social Media Objectives)?
