What is the Blue Goose?

We are a fraternal organization of men and women who work in the property & casualty insurance industry.

Dedicated now to promote Character, Charity and Fellowship, the group was originally set up as a lark by a group of hung-over travelling insurance agents. To pass the time one of the men suggested setting up a fake lodge, and with agreement all around they promptly named the new organization the Blue Goose, after a roadhouse near Madison, Wisconsin.

Every Pond has its own unique blend of members and activities. Before we become a Pond we must start out as a Puddle. Each Puddle or Pond, in its own way, provides needed support for a variety of charities through various fundraisers. Some Ponds spread donations over several charities, some provide services such as helping with Habitat for Humanity. Every Pond helps those in need. There is socialization- family events, dinners, holiday parties and more. Each Pond decides what activities they would like to hold. As the Vancouver Island Puddle makes no pretence toward training or education, there are no seminars at this point in time. The secret sacred solemn new-member induction ceremony is held once each year, and vaguely resembles a fraternity hazing. While allowing a great opportunity for networking, this is not a sales organization. Promote by sponsorship and helping the community.

Vancouver Island will soon have its own Puddle of the Blue Goose. If you would like some influence on the formation of this Puddle please contact us asap.

Insurance is an aging industry and our aim is to inject some youth and excitement in to it here on the Island.
